PULMONOLOGIST
Columbia Memorial Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pulmonologist to join our medical staff in Hudson, New York. This physician will provide a broad range of outpatient pulmonary care while also performing appropriate minor pulmonary procedures and participating in the care of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The ideal candidate will be comfortable practicing in a community hospital environment and will enjoy developing long-term relationships with patients and collaborating closely with primary care physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, nursing staff, and other specialists.
Key Responsibilities
Outpatient Pulmonary Practice
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a broad range of pulmonary and respiratory conditions in an outpatient office setting.
- Manage acute and chronic pulmonary diseases, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary nodules, chronic cough, sleep-related respiratory disorders, and other conditions within the physician’s scope of practice.
- Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans and coordinate care with referring physicians and other specialists.
- Interpret relevant diagnostic studies and imaging and provide consultation as appropriate.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical documentation.
Procedures
- Perform minor pulmonary procedures consistent with the physician’s training, credentials, and hospital privileges.
- Evaluate patients for and perform or coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as clinically appropriate.
- Participate in the ongoing development of efficient, safe, and high-quality pulmonary procedural services.
ICU and Inpatient Coverage
- Participate in the care of patients in the ICU, including consultation and management of patients with acute respiratory failure and other critical pulmonary conditions.
- Provide pulmonary and critical care expertise in collaboration with the ICU team, hospitalists, and other consulting specialists.
- Participate in an equitable call and coverage schedule, including ICU and inpatient pulmonary coverage, as determined by departmental and organizational needs.
- Assist with care transitions between the ICU, inpatient units, and outpatient settings.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease.
- Critical Care Medicine training, certification, or substantial ICU experience preferred.
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New York State medical license.
- Eligible for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at Columbia Memorial Health.
- Strong clinical judgment and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a community hospital environment.

Compensation will range between $310,644 and $526,436 based on experience. Additional compensation will be paid through a productivity-based incentive program.
