QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School Diploma required. Associate s degree is preferred.

Qualifications:

Medical coding experience, preferably with focus on laboratory testing, is
required. Familiarity with ICD-10 Diagnosis Codes preferred. Priority given to
applicants with CPC certification.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
is required.
Prior experience with Epic preferred, but consideration is given to other
Hospital EHR systems.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of related healthcare experience is
required, three (3) years preferred.

Responsible to: Client Services Supervisor and Laboratory Administrator

SUMMARY: The Laboratory Client Services and Billing Coordinator is responsible
for responding to inquiries and requests, and all automated and manual billing
related functions for Columbia Memorial Health Laboratory. The individual will
work with all laboratory department supervisors to report concerns and
complaints appropriately. Troubleshooting and follow-up with requests will be
performed in a timely matter, with competence and courtesy. Tasks also include
ensuring the accuracy of charges contained within the LIS and EHR systems.
Oversee all laboratory charge and credit submission procedures, serving as the
primary contact for all billing inquiries and discrepancies. Oversight of the
Laboratory Billing Procedures Manual, working with the supervisors and Beaker
team to validate new tests and systems, auto verification, billing charges, and
report review. Coordinate registration functions for the department to ensure
timely and accurate posting or reversal of charges.

Salary Range: $21.63 – $33.99
