MENTAL HEALTH TECH II – 11836
Qualifications: Individual with strong social skills able to learn the nuances
of treatment interventions necessary to adequately care for a wide variety
individuals with mental health illness and substance abuse issues.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
License/
Certifications: Able to complete BLS training and Preventing and Managing
Crisis Situations training. PCA Training preferred
Experience: No specific human service training required. Preferred experience
includes CNA work and/or Human Service work with direct patient/client contact.
Summary: Performs the functions of a Mental Health Assistant (MHA) in carrying
out all assignments made by the Coordinator of Nursing for Psychiatry, Charge
Nurse, Nurse or Program Director. Is accountable for all patient care he/she is
assigned to during a shift, including participation in various patient
activities. This position provides direct patient care to patients as well as
some clerical and reception duties.
Salary Range: $22.43 – $22.43
