PSYCHIATRIC CLINICIAN – 11389
POSITION SUMMARY:
Summary: This position works primarily in concert with the Emergency Department
to conduct evaluations for Emergency Department patients requiring a
psychiatric evaluation. The Psychiatric Clinician evaluates the patient,
reviews this data with the psychiatrist and then presents the recommendation to
the Emergency Department staff. The Psychiatric clinician is then responsible
to implement the disposition plan as per unit policy.
In addition, the Psychiatric Clinician is a support person to the inpatient
treatment program. These duties include but are not limited to: conducting
groups on the unit, covering social work caseloads as needed and conducting the
utilization & review for insurance authorization for patients on the
psychiatric unit.
Qualifications:
Education: Master s degree in Social Work or related field such as Marriage and
Family Therapy, Master s in Education in Counseling Psychology or Master s in
Counseling, or RN.
License/Certifications:
RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC or equivalent preferred. License eligible candidates
may be considered. It is required the Psychiatric Clinician obtain a Limited
Permit or Provisional License within the first 6 months as a condition of
employment. A Master s Degree in a related field that holds a Certification in
New York can be considered.
Experience: Two years of post graduate experience is preferred. Appropriate
experience such as internships may be considered.
Salary Range: $24.00 – $37.87
